Dobra generacija + više okupljanja i jakih pripremnih turnira = medalja
Dobra generacija + jedno okupljanje i svega nekoliko pripremnih = opstanak u diviziji A
Loša generacija + više okupljanja i jakih pripremnih turnira = opstanak u diviziji A
Loša generacija + jedno okupljanje i svega nekoliko pripremnih = ispadanje u diviziju B
Coach Dragan Micic: The biggest criticism of the team should be focused on the coaching staff and his selection to lead the team. The roster composition was extremely poor and limited. At least half of the team didn't deserve to be on the roster. The teams strength was the inside presence of Kamenjas, Gutic and Mehic who barely touched the ball on offense. The big three only really got touches when they rebounded the ball otherwise they were generally ignored on offense. One of the most damning indictments against the coaching staff is the lack of plays ran for interior players. The PGs struggled to get the ball inside but the off the ball movement was poor by other players who tended to stand around watching as one player went one on one. The lack of off the ball movement on offense and inside touches made the team easy to defend as the defenders rarely had to turn their heads or rely on any addition help or communicate on defense. The choice for the starting lineups was poor and overall the coaching staff failed to tailor the game plan to the team's strength. Instead they played to their weaknesses exposing how limited the team was on the perimeter and how inflexible the coaching staff was. Teams basically just had to wait around to let Bosnia implode on the perimeter and take ill-advised threes with the shot clock winding down. The team shot 33.5% from two, 25.7% from three and averaged over 20 turnovers per game. The team only averaged 55ppg which is not nearly enough when you're a perimeter orientated team that ignores the inside game. The team should have played more half court big man basketball using even a twin tower approach of Mehic and Kamenjas with Gutic coming off the bench and use the interior players to loosen up the perimeter for more open threes or some drive and kick opportunities. There was barely any weak side off the ball movement making the court extremely small on offense. The most damning aspect of Micic's coaching was his inflexibility; he failed to make adjustments in game or from game to game. When clearly his strategy wasn't working he stayed with it and kept the same lineups time after time making him and his team easy prey for his opponents.
